Born in Hong Kong and raised in the U.K and the U.S., Orion has embraced his multi-cultural roots and developed a unique and exciting sound that mirrors his personality and intrigues fans from across the globe.
From his earliest years, Orion sang along with the radio, emulating popular international artists such as Michael Bolton and Anita Mui. When started to develop his own sound, he turned to writing original songs and has never turned back.
"My family is Chinese and Portugese so I had a really wide range of musical influences", Orion says. "I use those influences and a blend of different musical backgrounds in almost everything I write".
Prolific, creative, and innovative, Orion Jai has the rare ability to lead an audience around the word in the span of a song, He is thought provoking and quick-witted, light hearted and dramatic, and has mastered the art of allowing his audience to feel his every emotion.
His music has been described as poly-ethnic, electronic, and pop, but the lines of style are clearly blurred. He has traveled the musical world from Choir to Opera and back again and has won over fans by never being predictable or staid. And while his music is driving him to international notariety, his broad appeal has crossed over into the fashion and advertising world, presenting a wealth of opportunity and interest from photographers, modeling agencies and fashion designers.
"Music is my passion", he says, "but I've found a love for the camera and I feel blessed that people ask me to model".
Immersed in his creativity, Orion still finds time to lend his voice to LGBT Rights and is quick to stand up for his beliefs. "I'm so happy to see the world changing when it comes to orientation", He says, "We live in a different world than we did even 5 years ago."
By all accounts, Orion Jai is no longer a secret. His debut single, What's My Name, is fresh and different and has become a solid performer on iTunes; and his burgeoning model portfolio is growing by leaps and bounds. From China to Great Britain, to the U.S., Orion Jai has truly become a talent to be seen and heard.
